P1-P3 English Reading Programme at Quest Education - primary school students reading storybooks

P1-P3 Reading Program

Duration: 2 hours

Our reading Program is a comprehensive package of best-selling storybooks, book reviews, article analyses with poetry reading and speech & drama components for students between 7-9 years old.

Students will be encouraged to have open debates, share ideas, and enact extracts from their favourite books during these interactive lessons.

The curriculum is designed to engage kids in innovative ways, allowing them to use their creativity and expand their vocabulary.

Additionally, students will acquire comprehension techniques such as inferencing, deducing and summarising.

Each lesson is carefully curated to pique the curiosity of children and allow them to enjoy learning a diverse set of themes such as fantasy, magic, realistic fiction, adventure, and classics.

P4-P6 Writing Program

Duration: 3 hours

Our Writing Program is a progressive continuation from the Reading Program where students learn how to effectively convey their thoughts eloquently onto a paper by employing a variety of tools such as newspaper articles, magazines, and factual pieces for students between 10 – 12 years old.

Students will learn story writing based on imagination and personal recount through various writing techniques such as literary devices and character description. Students will have opportunities to present their work in class to boost confidence.

In this program, students will also further their skills in tackling Comprehension Cloze and Comprehension OEQ which are the key components in paper 2.

Classroom engagement is a key criteria as students are expected to share their thoughts as stimulated discussion allows students to voice their opinions and gain insights on broader arguments.
