5 Study Habits That Help Primary School Students Succeed

December 20, 2024

Good study habits don't develop overnight, but with consistent practice, they become second nature.

1. Create a Dedicated Study Space — A quiet, well-lit area free from distractions helps your child focus better and associate the space with learning.

2. Use a Study Schedule — Consistency is key. Set regular study times and break sessions into manageable 25-30 minute blocks with short breaks.

3. Active Recall Over Passive Reading — Instead of just re-reading notes, encourage your child to close the book and try to recall key points. This strengthens memory retention.

4. Teach What You Learn — Have your child explain concepts to you or a sibling. Teaching others is one of the most effective ways to solidify understanding.

5. Review Mistakes — Keep an error log for each subject. Reviewing past mistakes helps identify patterns and prevents repeating them in exams.
